About WhatsApp QR codes
A WhatsApp QR code lets customers, clients, or friends start a conversation with you in a single scan. When scanned with a phone camera, it automatically opens WhatsApp with your chat ready and, if configured, a prefilled message already typed into the input field. This removes the hassle of saving a new contact first, making communication frictionless for customer support, service inquiries, flyers, product packaging, menus, and business cards.
This generator operates entirely in your browser using WhatsApp's official click-to-chat format. Your phone number and message are never transmitted to any server, stored in databases, or logged in any way. The QR code is generated instantly on your device. You can download the code as a crisp vector SVG for printing or as a high-resolution PNG for digital use.
An important privacy note: anyone who scans the QR code or decodes the image can see the phone number encoded inside it. If you want to protect your personal privacy, use a dedicated business phone number or a WhatsApp Business account instead of your personal line. Also note that WhatsApp pre-fills the message, but the user must still tap send themselves.

Does the person scanning need WhatsApp installed?
Yes. Scanning the code opens the WhatsApp app on mobile devices or WhatsApp Web/Desktop on computers. If WhatsApp is not installed, the browser opens a page prompting them to download or open WhatsApp.
Does this work with WhatsApp Business?
Yes. The click-to-chat format works identically with regular WhatsApp accounts and WhatsApp Business accounts.
Why does my number need a country code?
WhatsApp is a global service and requires full international phone numbers to locate accounts correctly. Always omit the leading zero or plus sign and start with the country code (such as 1 for the US, 44 for the UK, or 90 for Turkey).
Can I prefill a message for the user?
Yes. You can enter an optional message up to 500 characters. When the user scans the code, this message appears in their text box so they can send it with a single tap. The message is never sent automatically.
